How to Apply to the Environmental Science Program

Registration Now Open for 2018!

Register online at our registration and payment page!

Tuition is $1,395 for the one-month session and there are two discounts available:

  • $100 discount for full payment received by 1/31/18 (total cost of $1,295)
  • $50 discount for deposit received before 1/31/18  AND  final payment received before 3/31/18 (total cost of $1,345)

After March 31, 2018 the full registration Fee is $1,395 (no discounts apply)

Download the registration form for 2018, and send the completed form with either the deposit of $250, or the discounted (until Jan. 31st, 2018) "Early-Bird" tuition of $1,295. to:

Note also that in order for your student to participate in the Program, you must provide the following forms and a doctor's exam sheet (dated within past 2 years):

1. Consent Form/Release from Liability (1 page);
2. Photo/Video Release Form (1 page);
3. Immunization Record (Staff & Students under 18) + Special Activities Permission Form (3 pages); and
4. Authorization to Administer Medication to a Camper Form (1 page).

You can download these forms from the forms page. The completed forms can be scanned and uploaded with your online registration or mailed to David Backer, Executive Director, Environmental Science Program, P.O. Box 600292, Newton, MA 02460.

The Environmental Science Program is open to students who will be entering grades 7, 8, 9, or 10 by September 2018. This year, the program will operate from July 5th, 2018 to August 2nd, 2018*. If you have any questions about the Program or the plans for Summer of 2018, please contact us at

Financial Aid
Financial aid is available in the form of partial scholarships donated by the Newton Conservators, Inc., Green Newton, and other organizations and individuals (see our Supporters page). This program must comply with the regulations of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health and be licensed by the City of Newton Health Department.
